ETHA joins the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health to help promote cardiovascular health

ETHA joins EACH to promote cardiovascular health, VTE awareness and expertise

On 4 May 2023, the European Thrombosis and Haemostasis Alliance (ETHA) joined the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH). Launched in September 2021, EACH is a coalition of 17 leading European and international organisations representing patients and citizens, medical professionals, researchers, health technology providers, the pharmaceutical industry, and health insurance associations.

EACH provides a platform to aggregate the knowledge and expertise of key stakeholders to promote cardiovascular health as a policy priority at EU level. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Europe and affects the lives of millions of people every day, and thrombosis is the underlying disorder responsible for the top three causes of cardiovascular deaths worldwide – heart attack, stroke, and venous thromboembolism.

As a partner, the ETHA supports the broader objective of the coalition in calling for a European cardiovascular health plan with a view to decrease premature and preventable mortality, as blood clots are both preventable and treatable. The ETHA aims to collaborate closely with the European cardiology community and stands ready to share its expertise in the treatment and prevention of thrombotic and bleeding disorders.
